Convenience (MTL Novel) Chapter 26

The Wedding Business Novel
Marriange Of Convenience Novel
C26

His head was throbbing after being outside since morning. Since it's been a long time since she was alone in her own world, Bianca's resistance plummeted just by mixing with other people. Especially if the other person is someone who makes her behave differently than she is.

Although she had no intention of flirting with Zachary, Bianca wanted to establish a friendly relationship with him as much as possible. And she was very aware that for that friendly relationship to be established, she had to kill her personality a little bit. Bianca tried her best not to be sarcastic about surveillance or anything else.

Besides, she wasn't alone with Zachary. Didn't it happen while his subordinates were watching? The fact that his wife was embarrassing him while the vassals looked on was something that could infuriate even Zachary. Then Bianca tried not to say anything useless and she quickly left, after choosing Gaspard as her escort, like a bean roasted by lightning*.

(T/N: proverb that refers to acting impatiently and hastily.)

It was only after he left the hall that he was able to breathe even a little. Bianca moved as if to shake her dizzy head.

As Yvonne followed Bianca, she quickly noticed that Bianca's complexion was not good. Yvonne asked cautiously.

"Ma'am, are you alright?"

-Yes. If I get some fresh air, I'll be fine.

Bianca shook her head gracefully and put her hand to her forehead. Yvonne, reading the weariness around her eyes, added quickly.

-It's cold outside. I'll bring gloves, a coat and a heater. Wait a moment please.

-Then I will wait.

She wasn't ready to go out and left in a fit of rage, so her clothes were a bit thin. Bianca got goosebumps. Bianca, who was pleased with Yvonne's clever suggestion, gladly agreed.

Yvonne hurried toward the bedroom where Bianca's clothes were, not the reception room where Zachary and the other commanders were.

Left alone, Bianca grabbed both elbows as if embracing them. The dress's exclusive wide sleeves covered the cold of her fingertips a little.

The dress had a feeling of being a bit backward compared to the fashion of the capital, but what Bianca wore had an old-fashioned elegance instead of a rustic feel, as she was upper class. Her necklace, rising to the bottom of her ears, wrapped around her long, slender neck similar to that of a white deer. And the fabric of her dress was carefully wrapped around her slender body. Her hem was covered in fur, and from her neck to her chest was adorned with jewels and embroidery, and a delicately carved gold belt hung over her pelvis.

Just as Bianca was waiting for Yvonne, a man's footsteps were heard from behind. It was Gaspard.

—……..

Bianca looked at him but didn't speak. Gaspard was also behind her, as if he expected such treatment.

A strange silence followed in the corridor. In an instant, a cold wind blew through a crack in the wall and wrapped around the hem of Bianca's skirt.

Gaspard was as silent as one might suppose. There was not even a slight movement, which made it even more annoying. Tight lips and a firm jaw. Tall in stature Dark gray hair that looked like dark clouds and indigo blue eyes that looked like the night sky gave him a heavy feeling.

He was by no means a cheerful man.

He wasn't even small enough to look at it once and ignore it. As she originally thought, it was hard to pretend not to see it. Bianca looked out the window, expecting Yvonne to return quickly. But it will take a long time to bring the heater.

Bianca looked at Gaspard with a sigh. His indigo blue eyes looked directly at Bianca. However, since they will be together from now on, it would be helpful for each to know what the other is thinking. Even if Bianca was the only one who thought so. Bianca opened her mouth silently.

“I have no idea what you're thinking. I don't think it's very nice.

—…….

“Honestly, it was a relief that it was offered. Because I don't want to have someone who looks like a cow forced to slaughter by my side.

No matter what she said, it was just Bianca talking to herself. If Gaspard hadn't blinked his indigo blue eyes in response to Bianca's words, Bianca wouldn't even have been sure she was listening. Still, it wasn't something Bianca had said hoping for an answer. Having said all she had to say, Bianca waved her hand at Gaspard as if nothing had happened.

-I'm thankful.

Because the lady accepted me. Gaspard muttered.

His voice was slightly white compared to his presence. Bianca, who didn't expect Gaspard to say anything, was startled, but she tried to hide it and secretly looked at Gaspard. But Gaspard kept his mouth shut again, and Bianca could only see him looking as nonchalant as before.

What the hell is he thankful for? Bianca, who couldn't understand, opened her mouth to ask why, but she stopped when she saw Yvonne running while she was carrying furs and other things like a mountain in a hurry. Instead of asking Gaspard why, Bianca turned to Yvonne and greeted her.

"Ma'am, are you very cold?" Here's the coat...!

Yvonne approached Bianca with a wide smile. Yvonne is probably the only person in this castle who favors her. Seeing the winter sunlight reflecting off her wheat-colored hair warmed a corner of her heart.

Her wide smile hardened awkwardly when Yvonne saw Gaspard standing obliquely behind Bianca. She didn't know how to deal with Gaspard. As much as she sympathized with her uncomfortable feelings, Bianca urged Yvonne, pretending not to know.

"Yes, you came. It's a bit cold too.

“She's wearing a red dress today, so I brought a black coat.

-Great. This coat is very warm. It is lined with sable leather*. I bought it last winter.

(T/N: The sable is a species of marten, a small omnivorous mammal that primarily inhabits forest environments in Russia.)

“It's really bright.

Yvonne put the cloak over Bianca's shoulder and smiled. Of course, Bianca's coat was just as good. The clothes Bianca wore were old-fashioned, but the quality was so good that it was hard to find even in the capital. Bianca smiled and ran the back of her hand across the saber's fur. Her black fur brushed the back of her white hand.

Bianca looked at Gaspard for a moment as she spoke to Yvonne. To be honest, she was curious to see how Gaspard would react.

Zachary's vassals generally disliked Bianca's luxuries. Vincent buys him what he wants and sometimes even orders things that Bianca loses, but that was it. As Zachary allowed Bianca luxury, he didn't hide her signals that she would just listen.

Of course, Bianca didn't much care for that attitude. She is not a face she sees often. First of all, if she said something out loud like Robert, she would be out of the question.

However, Gaspard is someone you will see often in the future. If he was upset that he couldn't hide something so small in his heart, he would have been obvious in the future. If there was any sign of displeasure, he would tell her to take it and give it to Zachary.

Gaspard, seen by Bianca, was still silent, with a look on his face that couldn't express what he was thinking. It was the same expression he had when he got to Zachary's side earlier. He supposed he wouldn't be able to say anything, but that was good enough.

Bianca shook her head and sighed. White breath flew through the space between her lips. Yvonne, who mistook Bianca's attitude for her lack of preparation, asked anxiously.

"Ma'am, are you cold?"

"I'm dressed like this. It can't be cold.

Blanche smiled slightly. It's been a long time since anyone cared for her like that.

After Nanny Jean's death, there were maids who came to take care of Bianca on her behalf. However, they did not listen to Bianca's orders properly and were often dissatisfied with her work. If there was something Bianca wanted to wear, they said it wasn't right for her, or her clothes were too excessive.

They ignored Bianca's advice to only braid one side of their hair, instead braiding their hair on both sides or giving milk to Bianca, who used to drink honey water before bed, saying it was bad for her body.

Yes, they were trivial matters, but they kept piling up, making him annoyed.

Also, the more time they spent a day or two with Bianca, the more often they wanted to climb. It must have been because they thought that she was still a child, but Bianca was a child with great pride and stubbornness as a noble from a young age.
