Convenience (MTL Novel) Chapter 83

C83

Outside became noisy. Amidst the clattering, the cries of the people, and the voices of the knights passing by, the interior of the tent where they were was silent.

Zachary looked at her in silence, as if waiting for Bianca's answer, without moving, and Bianca also looked at him in silence.

Her face was flushed, her lips trembled, and her palms tingled. She had goosebumps on her arms and neck, and she was agitated. Bianca's heart raced rapidly with her just looking at him in silence. She standing in front of him.

It was as if there were only the two of them left in the world.

Bianca thought that the most romantic moment of her life was when she confessed to Fernand, but this moment is incomparable to back then. There wasn't even a small space in her mind to think about Fernand in the first place.

Just as darkness is brilliantly covered the moment the sun rises, so much was created, faded, and changed the moment Bianca and Zachary locked eyes. A miracle like dawn seeping into the space between night and morning. But, not knowing exactly what it was, Bianca quietly responded to Zachary's oath.

"I hope you receive the victory and glory you desire." I give you my blessing.

Bianca held out her hand as if asking for the handkerchief that Zachary held tightly in his hand. Not knowing what Bianca was thinking, Zachary meekly handed the scarf to Bianca.

Bianca tugged on Zachary's arm and lifted him up. Even if she pulled him slightly, her body suddenly rose. The gaze that she had inverted returned to her original state. But Zachary didn't look as big and scary as before.

Bianca walked over to Zachary and tied the scarf directly on Zachary's arm. Zachary watched her silently, without moving. He was holding his breath, even though he was close to her, he couldn't hear a single breath.

Bianca tied the scarf over her armor. The lace scarf tied over the silver armor was strange. Bianca gingerly kissed her handkerchief. The smooth, cool feel of the metal touching the most sensitive part of her heated her lips like a flame.

Bianca's lips, which had left a long, slow kiss on the handkerchief, slowly parted, as if it was time to take a breath.

Bianca took a step and then two more steps back.

When she entered the store, all kinds of negative thoughts choked her, but now her steps were so light that she could dance.

A little excited, Bianca smiled sweetly at Zachary, as if he were a ripe fruit.

"I look forward to your victory."

 * * *

The store opened and Bianca came out.

Zachary wanted to wave her off, but Bianca patted his chest as if it was okay and turned away.

Yvonne, who was waiting outside, followed Bianca.

Bianca's complexion, which was infinitely serious before entering the store, looked more relaxed. A lace scarf was tied to Zachary's forearm. As it is the servant's duty to check the mood of her master, Yvonne matched Bianca's mood with a bright voice.

“Looks like you were able to deliver it just fine.

-Yes.

“It looks much better than before.

 "Is that so?"

 -Yes. Is the count happy?

 -I think so.

Bianca chuckled. She couldn't stop laughing as she remembered Zachary insisting on firing Bianca. It was very interesting to see a smart person making such a stupid expression. She never thought that Zachary would have that kind of expression on her face.

It was quite funny when he stammered to trust him when he said that he was looking forward to his victory.

The tingling in his chest wouldn't go away.

Coming to hand over the scarf to Zachary was quite refreshing. It would be perfect if Fernand wasn't in the stands when they came back.

But unfortunately that was not the case. When Bianca returned to her seat, Fernand was still flirting with the ladies.

As Bianca sat down in the audience, her eyes met Fernand, who was playing the lute. Afraid that Fernand was coming closer, Bianca frowned. Fortunately, the noble wife she liked Fernand was still clinging to him.

She had no idea who the lady was, but Bianca desperately wanted her to continue clinging to that bastard.

Buuuuuuu.

Not long after Bianca returned, the sound of a horn resounded in the sky, signaling the start of the tournament. As people held their breath and the stadium fell silent, the moderator raised his voice.

—Thank you to everyone who came to the tournament to celebrate the engagement of Prince Albert, grandson of His Majesty Victor of Sevran and son of Gautier de Sevran, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Sevran, and Princess Navarra, daughter of His Highness Garcia de Sevran! Castile, heir to the Kingdom of Castile!

As the applause started one by one, Bianca clapped her hands slowly as if to blend in with the atmosphere. She had to pay attention to some extent while royalty was present.

On the stand erected one level higher than Bianca's, sat the royal family of Sevran and the delegation of Castile.

Although the engagement of Prince Albert and Princess Navarra was mentioned, neither of them were present. The same thing happened with the 2nd and 3rd princess, since they were the same age.

In turn, the 2nd prince, Jacob, was also absent. She didn't know why Jacob hadn't come, but he thought it was a good thing. Since she with only Fernand she was exhausted.

And soon the first match began.

They were the knights of a family unknown to Bianca. A spokesperson from each family raised their voices and explained the ancestry and history of the knights.

The knights stood at either end of the division in front of the stands, each receiving a lance from his servant and lowering his helmet cover. And as soon as the flag was lowered, they headed towards each other.

"Woooow!!

When the tip of a knight's spear pierced through the opponent's shield, the crowd shouted loudly. Bianca's ears rang at the cheers of the people. The spear also shattered along with the shield, and it took a long time for the opponent who had the shield pierced to regain his center of gravity.

This game was worth watching as there are many instances where they fail to pierce each other's shields. After three matches, the winner was decided.

The victorious knight approached a noble maiden, took a rose from her chest and handed it to her. The rose was in tatters as the tip of the opponent's spear had grazed against it, but the young noblewoman who received the flower was very happy and the noblewomen around her looked at her enviously. A woman turned her head in a bad mood, it seemed that the defeated knight was her lover.

Thus several parties followed.

The heat in the audience increased. However, the game for those who did not want to see it was not very fun.

Bianca watched the game listlessly. However, she had no choice but to straighten up for the next match.

"Son of Count Gustave de Blanchefort, descendant of the unicorn family, Sir Johaseng de Blanchefort!" Everyone welcome him with applause!

At the end of the speaker's shout, Bianca's brother Johaseng took up a shield bearing a white unicorn, the emblem of the Blanchefort family. The top of his helmet was also adorned with a sculpture that resembled a unicorn's horn.

Since her entire head was covered except for a large opening through which she could peer, Bianca blinked again and again to make sure that the gentleman standing there was really her little brother.

The moment the flag was lowered, Bianca's heart pounded. Occasionally people have been seriously injured by falling off horses or being hit by spears in the wrong place. Zachary, her husband, is a great gentleman, so he wouldn't make that mistake, but her brother...

Bianca didn't know how much skill Johaseng had, as she had recently met him and they had a good relationship with each other. Bianca's eyes followed Johaseng's movements closely, and his mouth went dry.

Fortunately, Johaseng had two wins. When he raised the helmet, he saw his older brother smiling happily. Johaseng looked around the audience, found Bianca and drove towards her.

 -Brother.

“Accept my rose, Bianca.

-Of course.

Bianca smiled softly and received the rose from Johaseng. She then leaned over to Johaseng, who was on the horse, and lightly pressed her lips against her cheek. Johaseng smiled a little and placed her lips on Bianca's cheek. After a light greeting, Johaseng left the stadium brimming with confidence.

Water was then sprayed on the floor to reduce dust. Bianca looked at the rose she held in her hand as the others prepared for the next match.

She is an indifferent little sister who didn't even know her older brother was participating. She didn't know that she would receive a rose from him, so she felt puzzled.
