Convenience (MTL Novel) Chapter 47

C47

After he said that, it was even worse. If she is the rightful host of the Arno family, why does she have to beg so desperately to give birth to a successor? She is not doing this because she likes it. How long do you have to repeat the same thing over and over again?

When she realized her sorry situation, tears welled up as if a dam had collapsed. Her eyes were watery and the back of her neck strained as if her throat ached, and then her pale green eyes sparkled like a blade of grass drenched in morning dew. Bianca, not wanting to show Zachary crying, closed her eyes.

He knows that tears don't solve everything, but he also knows that there are times when tears can help. But never, never in his life had anything been resolved with tears.

Even when she clung to her father crying that she didn't want to get married. Even when Jean died of an illness. Even when she shed tears as if she was praying for Fernand who had abandoned her.

Some of the people of the world were chosen to provoke pity from others with tears, but Bianca was not chosen. Even if she cries, she will only lose her pride. It was a terrible thing for Bianca, the only daughter of the Blancheforts, who never bowed her head to anyone and lived with great pride.

For that reason, Bianca was desperately trying to hold back her tears. But she couldn't help the tears that welled up. Unbeknownst to Bianca, tears were running down her cheeks.

Tears streamed down Bianca's face, and Zachary panicked and didn't know what to do. Did he say something so harsh that he made Bianca cry? What did he say? Holding onto his hair, he stuttered to the end, trying to appease Bianca.

“…Why, why are you crying?

-I'm not crying.

-You're crying…!

First of all, it was awkward because it was the first time I had tried to comfort someone who was crying. Zachary's hand that couldn't reach Bianca's shoulder, only hovered around her. Zachary's face paled in that brief moment.

Bianca stubbornly closed and opened her eyes. Even if tears welled up, she didn't blink once and looked at Zachary. Her slender hand held her skirt. Maybe it was because of the force or the cold weather, the back of her hand was unusually white. Tears blocked her view, so Bianca wiped her eyes with the palm of her hand.

It was Zachary who gave up. It was a game with a fixed answer in the first place. He sighed and raised his hand as if he couldn't help it.

-It's okay. I won't ask. I won't ask why you made that decision again now, so stop crying.

Bianca, who admitted that she was crying only after Zachary relented, actively tried to stop crying. She sobbed and wiped the tears from her eyes, but her crying didn't subside easily. After listening for a while, her tear glands dried up and the tremor in her voice subsided. She shed many tears, but that doesn't mean she forgot her purpose.

The persistent Bianca added, glancing provocatively at Zakari.

“…then, let me have a successor.

 -That is not possible.

Zachary's response was quick and forceful, as if it were a lie that he had been nervous until just a moment ago. Such determination, Bianca read it as if she had no intention of seeing a child of hers.

What kind of wind blew, that she came to see her two years later, after having such a strong will? In two years or now, she won't be much different.

Not really knowing what Zachary was thinking, Bianca felt sad again. Afraid of Bianca's crying, Zachary felt restless again. He couldn't figure out what the hell he was trying to do.

"...Not the successor, but I'll give you whatever you want." Yes?

“What I want is a successor. It is not a big thing. It's just, it's a matter of course between husband and wife...

-It is not a big thing.

Zachary smiled bitterly. His gaze towards Bianca felt like he was trying to appease a child by giving her candy.

Although he returned to his sixteen-year-old body, his mental age was thirty-eight. She was nine years older than Zachary. Just as Bianca opened her mouth to reply, Zachary's hand touched Bianca's cheek.

He could clearly feel the sensation of leather touching his wet cheeks and the characteristic musky smell.

-You know nothing.

Bianca had a lot to say. When it comes to getting laid, she may know more than he does. Besides, isn't that something that already happened? The only thing she doesn't know is Zachary's thoughts….

But Bianca couldn't move her lips, as if she were bound by Zachary's fingertips encircling her cheek.

Zachary stiffened when he realized his behavior as he pressed Bianca's cheek.

Zachary's hand dropped as if it had touched something it shouldn't have, and a different kind of embarrassment, from when Bianca had burst into tears, appeared on his face.

“…So don't overdo it.

After adding that, Zachary quickly left. His walk was serious, but due to his long strides, he quickly disappeared down the long corridor.

After Zachary left, Bianca let out a long breath. Yvonne walked over to Bianca with quick steps and looked at Bianca's complexion. Bianca waved her hand like she was okay and looked out the long hall window. It had been a long time and the sun was setting.

It didn't seem likely that Zachary would give up easily. This time, she promised herself that she would make a good marriage deal, but shouldn't the other person also answer?

Judging from the situation, it seemed that after waiting for two years, she would be able to sleep with him only the moment she made up her mind to spend the first night. Two years later. Even if she has a child in the meantime, she can have two more. Then…

Should I look for an opportunity and attack…?

It wasn't a bad idea. No. It was pretty good. She felt as if the mist that had covered her eyes had dispersed in an instant and her vision cleared. It was much better to do that than to look at Zachary and panic.

Bianca's eyes, watching the sun set over the corridor, shone with defiance.
